Truth
Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me on level ground. – Psalm 143:10
God is constantly teaching us to do His will. He wants us to know His will. He is relentless in instructing us. At this particular time in my life, the lesson He is chasing me with is perseverance. In every little or big thing I do, it seems He is shouting at me, “Don’t give up!” This morning I lost a book that is important to me. After searching the likely places to find my missing book and asking God to show me where to look, I still could not find it. I had the book less than twenty four hours before and had not left my house since, but it was nowhere to be found. Finally, I did the one thing that I really did not want to do; I dug through the outdoor garbage bin. There was the book, rolled up in the catalogs that had come in yesterday’s mail almost at the bottom of the garbage. While walking back in the house, I thanked God for helping me find the book. I felt like He said to me, “You did not give up, and you were willing to do the unpleasant to get what you wanted.” God is teaching us everyday. Do we want to learn what He is teaching us? Are we willing to go the extra mile or do the unpleasant to learn His will? The answer will be found in the degree we trust Him and believe His will is good.
