How Full Is Your Hope Tank? 25 Psalms Of Hope For The Hopeless
What Hopeless Situation Are You Facing Today?
What is going on in your life today that you makes you aware of your need for hope? When I look around this world, I see that HOPE is a rare and precious treasure today because I see too many people living hopeless.
Some of the reasons people live without hope is because the darkness of this world and our own difficult situations impact our belief system. Hopeless situations remind us that we are at war with a real spiritual enemy, and our spiritual enemy uses that darkness and our difficult situations to deceive us. He often lures us to place our hope in things that will fail us. Because he knows when we place hope in anything other than Jesus, we eventually will find ourselves hopeless.
BUT! - YOU ARE NOT HOPELESS! - BECAUSE HOPE BELONGS TO YOU!
As a believer in Christ, we may face situations that appear hopeless. However, our faith is not in appearances and what we see.
2 Corinthians 5:7 - “For we walk by faith, not by sight. “
AND
1 John 5:4 - “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.
And this is the victory that has overcome the world -- our faith.”
Whatever situation you are facing and believe is hopeless... with all the love my body and heart can contain, I must tell you that you believed a lie. In Christ, we should never be without hope. You see, at the heart of hopelessness is a focus problem. When someone has come to a place of hopelessness, the problem lies with their focus.
Think Outside of Yourself
Think about someone you know who is hopeless, feels hopeless, or believes they are in a hopeless situation. Now think about a conversation with them about their situation. What do they talk about? How do they express what they feel? What words are coming out of their mouth about their situation?
Luke 6:45
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good;
and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil.
For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Our words express our true beliefs. They reveal what is truly in our heart, and they reveal our focus.
Please don't mistaken my passion for truth as a lack of compassion. I understand that life hurts and brings us hardships that feel and seem insurmountable. We all faces seasons of crisis and usually those crises present us with a faith challenge. However, Jesus and the truth of God's word is the answer to every hopeless situation. Our victory is found in Jesus who is the Word of God.
1 Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hopelessness is not a trait for a believer in Christ, but rather, VICTORY!
So Dear Sister,
Are you struggling to find hope in light of dire circumstances?
Have you placed hope in something this world offers and found it only left you more hopeless?
Is someone you love desperately in need of hope?
Find your hope and sustenance in and through the Word of God. Combat the lie of your spiritual enemy with the truth of God’s word. Put on your spiritual armor (Ephesians 6:11-17) and pick up your sword!
Let’s talk about how we combat the enemy’s lies of hopelessness with the truth of God’s Word.
First - Ephesians 6:17 says that the sword of the Spirit is the word of God. The original Greek language term used for word is not logos (the whole or entirety of God’s word) but rhema. Rhema speaks of a specific word, a word that is specified for a specific thing.
Combat the Enemies Lies of Hopelessness with a Specified Word of Hope
With that in mind, I made a list of 25 Psalms of Hope in my blog post today that you can download and print it out and use these verses as that specified word of God over any areas of hopelessness that may be trying to creep in and take over in your mind or life.
Pray those Psalms of hope.
Believe them.
Meditate on them.
Treasure and trust in them to defeat your spiritual enemy
And watch hopeless walk out the door of your life.
Today I will leave you with a declaration of hope from Psalm 16:9.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will rest in hope.
Psalm 16:9
Have a blessed and beautiful day in the Lord!
